The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at Maximos Mansion on Tuesday evening, ahead of signing crucial bilateral agreements on Wednesday.
"We are also interested in hydrogen and how to turn Greece into a hub for Europe in terms of hydrogen, which is something that will change the parameters for both countries," said the Crown Prince.
“We can provide Greece and Southwest Europe through Greece with much cheaper renewable energy and get an MoU [Memorandum of Understanding] signed about that today,” he added, sitting alongside Mitsotakis.
"This is an opportunity to reaffirm the dynamic of our strategic relations," Mitsotakis said to Mohammed bin Salman, adding that the two will also discuss "how to further enhance the significant relationship between our two countries, with a special emphasis on economic collaboration."
The Saudi prince pointed out that his visit is a historic opportunity for the two countries and will lead to agreements in the fields of energy, renewables, and communications.
Mohammed bin Salman's Athens visit marks the strategic nature of Greece-Saudi Arabia relations, which were confirmed during the Greek premier's official visit to Riyadh in October 2021, noted Greek government sources earlier.

The Saudi prince's visit will culminate in signing agreements on Wednesday, reflecting Saudi Arabia's strong interest in broad investments in Greece, sources added. In addition, they said, one of the reasons Saudi Arabia is paying particular emphasis to its relationship with Greece is that it considers it a pillar of stability in the region.
