The Egyptian Naval Forces with their Greek counterparts during the joint drills in the Mediterranean Sea
Egypt's frigate "Al Moez" carried out a fleeting naval training with the Greek frigate SZEF "HS IKARIA" within the range of the Northern Fleet, the Egyptian army said in its statement.
The exercises included conducting a set of various naval combat activities aimed at strengthening maritime security procedures in the Mediterranean and assessing surface and air threats to international trade and navigation movements in areas of common interest along with maintaining maritime security and stability in the region.
The drills also aimed to prepare the navies of Egypt and Greece to work homogeneously within a joint force charged with tasks of maintaining maritime security to confront threats to the international freedom of navigation and the flow of global trade, the statement read.
According to the Egyptian armed forces, the drills come as part of the keenness of Egypt's Military Command of the army to exchange expertise and conduct joint training with their friendly and sisterly countries to achieve common interests.
