Former AEK defender (2005-06), Nikola Malbaša, was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison by the Supreme Court of Belgrade for the attempted murder of a 47-year-old man in July 2020. He denies the charges.

The former Yellow and Black player attempted to murder a 47-year-old man who allegedly owed him money in the summer of 2020, Gazetta reported.

Malbaša, who also played for Partizan in Serbia, was accused of trying to kill the 47-year-old, stabbing him in a car and causing him serious injuries.

However, he denies the accusations and claimed that he has known the victim for many years and that they are friends.

The Prosecutor's Office requested a 10-year prison sentence, which was not accepted by the court and now both sides have the right to appeal.
