Greek health authorities announced on Tuesday 122 230 confirmed cases of coronavirus for the week of July 25-31, 2022. In the same period, 355 Covid patients have died, according to a weekly report from the National Public Health Organization (EODY).

The total number of confirmed cases of the infection since the beginning of the pandemic is 4,474,616, of which 52.18% are women.

The number of intubated Covid patients is 138.

Compared to the weekly coronavirus bulletin a week before:

  • 125,193 cases (daily average: 17,884, weekly change 11%, reinfection 20%).
  • 378 deaths (54 per day), an increase of 29%
  • 138 intubated (up 4.5%)
  • 2558 hospitalizations (average 365 per day)
  • Significant decrease in PCR/RAPID tests.

Tests: 802,999 PCR/RAPID tests with positivity rate 15.22%.

Three hundred fifty-five deaths were recorded on July 25-31 from Covid-19, which is 34 deaths per 1 million people (change in a week: +21% ), resulting in the total number of pandemic victims since the start of the pandemic reaching 31,377 people.

Of those who died, 95.8% had an underlying disease and/or were 70 years of age or older.

Also, this week, there is an EODY divergence between the number of deaths and the total number of fatalities (last week: 30,999), hinting that the number of deaths for the week of July 25-31 was 378but, not 355.

In total, 138 patients with Covid were on ventilators in hospitals as of July 31. Their mean age is 69 years, 65.2% are male, 92.8% have an underlying disease and/or are 70 years of age or older.

2,558 Covid-19 patients were admitted to the hospital during the same week, and 2,219 were discharged simultaneously.
