The Greek women's water polo team scored a massive victory at the World Women's Youth Water Polo Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia winning silver after a narrow loss to the United States.
Our golden Greek girls gave a brave and determined fight for the gold, narrowly missing out with a final score 8 - 10.
The eight minute match scores were (Greece - USA) : 2-5, 4-1, 1-2, 1-2
Group A: ITALY, KAZAKHSTAN, HUNGARY, TURKEY
Group B: GREECE, UZBEKISTAN, JAPAN, USA
Group C: AUSTRALIA, SOUTH AFRICA, CANADA, NETHERLANDS
Group D: SPAIN, SERBIA, CROATIA, NEW ZEALAND
The World Women's Youth Water Polo Championships returned to Belgrade, Serbia, after a successful edition hosted in 2018. In that occasion Spain claimed the title after beating Italy in the gold medal game. This year there will be 17 teams divided in 4 groups contending the crown in the Sports Centre 25. maj - Milan Gale Muškatirović located in the heart of the old part of Belgrade.
