Greek Paralympian Dimitra Korokida wins Taekwondo Gold for Greece

Greek Paralympian Dimitra Korokida has been awarded gold the the 2nd edition of the poomsae and para poomsae championships by the World Taekwondo Academy in the P50 Wheelchair Female division.

Named 2015 Female Athlete of the Year with an Impairment by the Panhellenic Association of Sports Press [PSAT] in Greece,  Dimitra Korokida represented Greece at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she won the bronze medal in the women's shot put F53 event.

She won the silver medal in the women's javelin throw F52/F53 event at the 2013 World Championships held in Lyon, France. Two years later, she won the gold medal in the women's shot put F53 event at the 2015 World Championships held in Doha, Qatar.

She also competed at the 2016 European Championships held in Grosseto, Italy winning the silver medal in the women's shot put F53/F54 event.

From 1984 to 2005 she competed in taekwondo and represented Greece at European and international competitions. She also competed in Para cycling at the 2014 World Championships in Greenville, SC, United States of America, and in Para badminton at the 2018 European Championships in Rodez, France.
