Six people drowned yesterday on Greek beaches

Six people died on Tuesday from drowning on the beaches of Lefkada, Corfu, Serres, Pylos, Antiparos and Igoumenitsa.

At noon, a 68-year-old person was pulled unconscious from the marine area of ​​"NIKIANAS" in the province of Lefkada, a 62-year-old foreigner from the marine area of ​​"KYANI AKTI" in the province of Serres and a 77-year-old person from Corfu on the beach of "ARILLA".

Yesterday afternoon, an 85-year-old person was pulled unconscious from the sea area of ​​Pylos, N. Messinia, a 51-year-old foreigner from the beach "PSARALYKIS A" Antiparos, and a 77-year-old citizen from the beach "DREPANOU" Igoumenitsa.

All were transported by ambulance to the Health Centres and hospitals of the regions, where they were pronounced dead, while a preliminary investigation into the incidents is being carried out by the local Port Authorities, Proto Thema reported.

An autopsy has also been ordered on the six bodies.
