Rhode Island state senator Leonidas Raptakis is in Andros. Lou, as he is known to his friends, comes from Strapouries and had a house in Apoikia.

Now he is on his favourite islands and even swam at the beach of Agios Petros, in front of the San Pedro beach bar.

About 20 days ago , the Greek-American senator had a meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at Megaros Maximos.

The prime minister praised the initiatives and actions of PADEE (World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association) which aim to project the modern image of our country worldwide, to stimulate Diaspora and Homeland ties and to upgrade Greece’s position on the international stage.

Raptakis served non-consecutively from January 1997 until January 2011 in the District 20 and 33 seats, having served consecutively in the Rhode Island General Assembly from January 1993 until January 1997 in the Rhode Island House of Representatives District 31 seat.

He was a candidate for Secretary of State of Rhode Island in 2010.
