Nightmarish moments were experienced by a 38-year-old woman in Crete who almost fell victim to rape by a friend of hers.

According to Creta Post, on the eve of August 15th, a 45-year-old man - originally from Albania - invited the 38 -year-old to his house to have a coffee.

The 38-year-old went to his house in Ammoudara at 9 in the morning, but things seem to have taken a wild turn.

According to the complaint, at some point the 45-year-old threw her violently towards his bed and grabbed her by the neck, while he tried to rape her.

She, fortunately, managed to escape from him, avoiding the worst, and went to the police and reported him.

A few hours later, the police located and arrested the 45-year-old who, as it was found, is in the country illegally.

The 45-year-old was taken to the public prosecutor who brought criminal charges against him for attempted rape.

He was then brought before the investigator in order to testify, however, he requested and received a deadline, so it is expected that he will testify on Thursday morning.
