The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, became philosophical during his speech to party officials on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the founding of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
“From Central Asia to the Balkans and Africa, and in all parts of the world, we still have many hopes to provide and help the hundreds of millions of people whose hearts and eyes have turned to Turkey,” the Turkish president said.
Then softening his speech and giving a human dimension, he said that “like everyone, we too will one day leave this mortal world. And my brothers it is known that a grave of two cubic metres is waiting for us”.
Temel Karamollaoğlu, president of the Prosperity party, who seems to not share Erdoğan’s humility, said: “What crushes us so much is corruption, but be sure that even more than corruption, it is waste.”
He added: “You go to one place and you go with 100 cars. You go to one country and you go with ten aircraft. Do you think that because they are not seen we do not know them?”
