Asia Minor Greek Historical Society commemorates Asia Minor Catastrophe

The Asia Minor Greek Historical Society in Brisbane, Australia, will be holding a memorial service and cultural events to commemorate the memory of the 3.5million Indigenous Greek, Armenian and Assyrian Christians of Asia Minor killed by the Turks during the Genocides from 1913-1923.

The Divine Liturgy will include the Commemorative Service for the Christians who
were killed, and acknowledge the persecution of the Clergy, and the martyrdom of
Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Smyrna.

A Trisagion service will follow the Divine Liturgy where community members are invited
to lay a wreath in commemoration of the fallen, or in memory of  loved ones who
survived the depravations of the Catastrophe, at the cenotaph adjacent to the church.
