Cyprus: Ukrainian woman pulled out a knife at a pro-Russian event

A Ukrainian woman was arrested yesterday by the Cypriot police in Larnaca for possessing a knife and threatening Russians who held an event in support of their military's action in the war-torn country.

Russians in Cyprus regularly hold events in favour of their country's military, resulting in friction with Ukrainians living on the island, Proto Thema reported.

On Monday, the Russian community held yet another Russian flag event in the tourist area of Larnaca, and this drew the ire of the knife-wielding Ukrainian who appeared to be drunk.
