Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made new provocative statements against Greece, as well as against the EU and NATO, during a ceremony at the National Defence University.
"Turkey knows that those who cause unrest with harassment at every opportunity in the Aegean are only pawns and the real struggle is fought by those who are behind them", emphasised the Turkish president.
As he said, his country is well aware of the disturbance caused in the Eastern Mediterranean with the aim of undermining its national interests.
He also said that Turkey is not only fighting terrorists who are hostile to the values and existence of the nation, but also those who sent them to the country.
Erdoğan also referred to the events he participated in for the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Disaster.
“There were those who showed their enmity towards our country and our nation, through the puppet, the rope of which they hold in their hands. And today, there are those who demonstrate the same method," he said.
"We know very well why the EU, which we are waiting for, excludes us when it joins countries that cannot be compared to us.
"We know very well where NATO transferred its power, which did not support us at the height of the threats against our country.
"We know the intentions of those who give weapons to terrorists around the world and especially near our borders, while not selling them to us."
