Reinforcements sent to firefighting forces in Attica

Firefighting forces operating at the Grammatiko wildfire in Attica were strengthened late afternoon Friday, said the Fire Brigade.

Some 62 firefighters with 11 fire engines and 3 ground teams are assisted by 4 water-bombing aircraft and 3 helicopters, as well as by municipal water tanks and many volunteers.

The fire broke out just before 14:30 on Friday, it is burning low vegetation, and has not yet threatened housing communities.
