CRETE: Teenager who kicked a kitten in Rethymno was fined €5,000

A fine of 5,000 euros was imposed on the 15-year-old teenager from Rethymno, who, after initially luring a cat with caresses, then kicked it.

The incident happened in the courtyard of a Primary School in the Cretan city of Rethymno, an area where the student lives with her family.

On Friday afternoon, the girl appeared at the Police Station accompanied by her father and they gave a statement. The Juvenile Prosecutor was informed about the case and will take over the case.

On Thursday afternoon, the Animal Welfare group NOIAZOMAI received a message from a citizen informing that an incident of an animal abuse took place.

The message was accompanied by a video depicting two girls, one of whom approaches the cat under the pretense of petting it and then kicks it with force.
