Thessaloniki burned icon of Virgin Mary

Shortly before midnight on Friday, the Immediate Action Police operations centre in Thessaloniki received a call about young people who were possibly carrying Molotov cocktails in the Upper Town area.

Police officers immediately went to Aeschylou Street. There they spotted a group of young boys and girls. At the suggestion of the neighbours, they found a burnt icon of the Virgin Mary.
