Celebrated Greek Australian comedian, actress, writer and creator of the iconic 90s character Effie, Mary Coustas, will be hosting the upcoming 60th Anniversary Ball of the St George church and parish in Rose Bay in Sydney, Australia.
Coustas was thrilled at the opportunity to be the MC for the event for the very church where she got married.
“St George Church Rose Bay was where I was married, where so many of the people I love and know have gathered to be witness to each other’s happiest and as well as some of their most heartbreaking moments over the years.
“The Church brings us together. It reminds us of the simple yet powerful role faith plays in bringing peace and clarity to our lives.
“I feel honoured to play a small part in the St George 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration Black Tie Ball. I look forward to celebrating with you on what I know will be a truly unforgettable night.”
Coustas further acknowledged the role a uniting pillar like the Greek church has had to Greek Australians as both individuals and as a community.
“When we think back to the events in our lives that help us feel supported, seen and celebrated, most of us think back to so many scenes centred around our church.” said Coustas
The 60th Anniversary Ball will be held on November 12th, 2022, at 6:30 pm,
at The Fullerton Hotel, No. 1 Martin Place, Sydney.
