Turkey: Opposition to Erdoğan is winning by ten points according to latest polls

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is now the opposition to the Republican People's Party (CHP) of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu with a difference of 0.6% according to the polls.

According to the results of a poll by the Aksoy Research company in Turkey, the ruling AKP has fallen below the "psychological" 30%, with an estimate that the decline will continue due to the difficult winter and poverty.

In the question: "If parliamentary elections were held on Sunday, which party would you vote for", the results are as follows:

• Justice and Development Party (AKP) 29.7%
• Republican People's Party (CHP) 29.1%
• Good Party (IYI) 14.1%
• Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) 10.1%
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) 7.6%
• Party of Democracy and Progress (DEVA) 2.1%
• Party of Happiness (SAADET) 1.1%
• Party of the Future (GELECEK) 1.0%
• Rest 5.1%

The opposition coalition (CHP, IYI, GELECEK, SAADET) reaches 47.4%, compared to the government coalition (MPH, AKP) which is almost 10 points behind with 37.3%.

The director of Aksoy Research, Ertan Aksoy, commented that the ruling party and that of the official opposition compete chest to chest for first place.

"In the winter, both the AKP and the MHP (government coalition) may see their votes fall because at the moment the most important problem of the country is poverty," he stressed.
