Erdoğan: “Greece is not equal to us, it has been dragged into a swamp”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan raised the issue of the presence of military assets on Greek islands, thus continuing the extremely provocative rhetoric coming from Ankara.

In his new delirium, he emphasised: “Greece is not equal to us. The Greeks will be held accountable. Those who hide under the skirt of others do not have a dignified attitude. This is a dangerous game by both Greek politicians and those who use the Greek people."

"The Greek rulers who destroyed their country politically, militarily and economically due to their evil political calculations, sooner or later will have to give an account to their own people," he continued. “Foreign military forces throughout Greece should disturb the Greeks."

On the same day the Greek ambassador in Ankara was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, where he was asked to “put an end to the violations on the islands and to restore the demilitarised regime," the Turkish president spoke again of supposed provocations from Greece.

“We are following the challenges of Athens” he claimed.

Raising the tones, he said that Greece has been “led into a swamp”.

“We know very well that those who are turning Greek politicians against us are only doing it to prevent Turkey’s great and powerful program, distracting our country”, the Turkish president said and continued his rant, citing again the siege of Tripolitsa in 1821.

“Those who celebrated the ‘massacre’ of Tripolitsa, have not yet accounted for it in history”, he stated.
