10-year-old Greek chess champ Evangelia Sisko ranked 3rd in the world

This year's Greek chess champion, 10-year-old Evangelia Sisko has taken out bronze in the World Individual Championship which concluded on Tuesday in Batumi, Georgia, give her a ranking position of third in the world.

Her victory followed that of 14-year-old Nikos Poupalos, who a few hours before was ranked fourth in the World Individual Championship in Romania making Greece proud of its position on the global chessboard.

Evangelia Sisko was among 101 female chess players from 36 countries participating in the championship for girls up to 10 years old.

Earlier this year 21-year-old Greek chess master Evgenios Ioannidis took out the international open chess championship Serbia OPEN 2022 which was held in Novi Sad between June 28th – July 6th reported Chessdom magazine.

According to the media outlet, the tournament attracted more than 400 entries from 41 countries with a sensational display by the young Greek who won the Masters event in a field of 39 grandmasters and 68 international masters. scoring outstanding 8/9 points with performance of 2858, and clinched the winning prize of 7.500 euros, grandmaster norm, and 40.8 rating points!
