Mandatory Rapid Test for Unvaccinated Workers in Greece

By 2 years ago

The Health Ministry has mandated that all unvaccinated employees in Greece's public and commercial sectors must undergo a quick Covid-19 test once a week.

Until December 31, 2022, the quick test for unvaccinated employees is still required.

The employee is responsible for paying 6 euros for the quick exam.

Additionally, private and private sector employees must present a negative quick test result or a digital certificate of illness or immunisation.

The decision is part of a law that will be decided upon today, Thursday, during the Parliament's Plenary Session.

The bill, among other things, allows for the continued operation of vaccination clinics and at-home immunisation programmes.

Among others, the bill also provides the continuation of the operation of vaccination centres and the vaccination at home by private doctors.

It should be recalled that the platform to book appointments for the newly arrived vaccines against Covid-19 Omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5, the 4th booster shot against the pandemic virus, has opened since September 27.

Vaccinations with Pfizer BA$ and BA 5 will start on Monday, October 3, 2022.

It should be noted that one cannot have the booster shots before the primary vaccination, that is, one or two doses of vaccines, depending on the type and company.
