The two-day event will feature a host of cultural presentations, cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, traditional Hellenic dancing, art exhibitions, fashion parades, market stalls and a pop-up Greek village. In addition to all of the above, attendees will also be tempted by 20 food stalls, each selling a different tantalising morsel.
If previous iterations are any indication, we’re expecting everything from savoury staples like sheftalia (Cypriot-style sausage) and yemista (juicy tomatoes stuffed with rice and ground beef) to sweets like bougatsa (crispy baked filo dough filled with semolina custard filling) and trigona panoramatos (golden pastry triangles that are soaked in syrup and filled with creamy custard). Oh, and we can’t forget a plate or two of honey puffs – a Paniyiri must.
