Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted that the time for the return of the Parthenon Sculptures is fast approaching and will raise the issue of their return with British Prime Minister Liz Truss, most likely at the end of November.

“At a time when Truss will be looking to build her credibility and when the UK is sort of cornered in terms of its overall image after the [Queen’s] funeral it will be a fantastic gesture, and that’s what I’ll tell her,” said the Greek Prime Minister during an in an interview with The Sunday Times last week in Athens.

Mitsotakis believes that Britain is edging closer to returning the "Elgin Marbles" and will raise the subject with Liz Truss on a visit to London this year.

According to the Times, the Greek Prime Minister believes that Britain's decision on the return of the Parthenon Sculptures is approaching, noting that the climate has changed in the United Kingdom adding that he will tell his British counterpart, Liz Truss, that the return of the Sculptures will be a "fantastic gesture" on the part of Britain at a time when the UK is sort of cornered in terms of its overall image.

The Greek prime minister also noted that he has a "good personal relationship" with King Charles who will have to remain neutral on the issue due to his position but is supportive of the initiative to re-unite the Parthenon Sculptures.
