Suicide of a woman on the Acropolis: "She made the sign of the cross and jumped", said witnesses

This is the point from which the 47-year-old Greek woman from Nea Ionia plunged to death at noon on Tuesday - Areopagus Hill in the Acropolis.

According to police sources, as quoted by Proto Thema, the 47-year-old had psychological problems and was determined to die in the most tragic way. According to witnesses who were at the scene at the time of the fall, saw the unfortunate woman make her cross and jump.

"She was slurring her words, she looked desperate. She spoke Greek but we didn't expect her to jump into the void. She killed himself in front of our eyes. We saw her make the cross and kill herself," said some of the witnesses.

Before the woman killed herself, she was talking on the phone with her partner. When she abandoned her phone and jumped to her, he, not knowing her fate, continued to call her because he was worried about her condition.

The unfortunate woman was seriously injured in the head, then she was taken unconscious from the fire department where she was picked up by an ambulance and pronounced dead at Evangelismos hospital.
