Michelin Guide Athens 2022

By 2 years ago

One new two-star restaurant and two new one-star restaurants can be found in the Michelin Guide Athens 2022.

"Athens, the birthplace of Western civilisation, is undergoing a full-fledged gastronomic revival as a result of great chefs who are visiting the city to open their restaurants.

Others are returning to their roots after travelling through Northern Europe, but all of them are passionate professionals who have it in their hearts to highlight the culinary scene in the City of the Violet Crown.

Some of them are from the Greek islands and have a thirst for revival in Athens "said Gwendal Poullennec, director of the international Michelin Guide.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center's new two-star Delta, run by chefs George Papazacharias and Thanos Fekos, offers a gourmet experience to customers situated among a profusion of greenery.

They use Greek ingredients to create dishes using Scandinavian thoughts and methods, utilising their previous work in upscale Nordic restaurants. In addition, they get a green star for their morality.

Chefs Tasos Mantis and Alexandros Mouridis use a farm-to-table philosophy in the Pangrati's new one-star Soil restaurant, growing their own produce at the restaurant's green-starred Alepochori vegetable garden.

With its Acropolis views, The Zillers also enters the one-star club this year. Chef Pavlos Kiriakis offers his unique spin on regional customs with imaginative tasting menus.
