Gulf Air celebrates 40 years of flights to Athens

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain and World’s Most Improved Airline 2022, celebrated 40 years of direct flights between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Greece on October 10, with 2 festive eventss organized in Athens by the Athens International Airport and the company to commemorate this anniversary, according to a relevant announcement.

On the one hand, the celebration included an event for the media representatives who had the opportunity to talk with the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air, Captain Waleed AlAlawi as well as members of the airline’s executive management and Athens airport officials regarding the news of the two organizations.

Alongside, a trade event was also held during which the CEO of Athens International Airport Yannis Paraschis, the President of the Federation of Greek Tourist & Travel Agencies Associations / FedHATTA Lysandros Tsilidis, the Deputy General Director of Athens International Airport Konstantinos Markopoulos, owners and managers of travel agencies, travel agents, as well as shipping agents were briefed on the latest Gulf Air developments by Captain AlAlawi.

On the occasion, Mr Captain AlAlawi stated “The Kingdom of Bahrain and Greece have developed very strong trade ties, and Gulf Air strongly values ​​the Athens route, as it connects both countries with significant tourism flows between them. The company’s flights to Mykonos and Santorini have just been completed, as the summer season served for the second time the specific itineraries that are particularly popular among our passengers. In addition, Gulf Air recently launched a stopover program in Bahrain, whereby passengers can choose to spend a few days discovering all that the destination has to offer.
