Antipodes Festival on this weekend in Melbourne

Melbourne Festival

The Antipodes Festival is back! The 2022 Festival team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that this will be a street party that you will never forget!

Bring the whole family along this weekend (Saturday, 22 Oct & Sunday, 23 Oct) to enjoy impressive Greek dance performances, Greek music, and over 80+ market stalls.
Happening in Melbourne’s historic Greek Quarter, come along and sample the delicious food offered, grab a drink from the on-location bars and sit back to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere with local and international live entertainment.

The Antipodes Festival has many kid-friendly activities for the whole family to enjoy, including Karagiozis performances and many show rides.

Other activities include live cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs such as Philip Vakos, Spiri Tsinziras and Petros Delidis and the infamous Zorba ‘Til You Drop Competition, where the last performer standing wins a trip to Greece.

If it's Cretan music you are after, then don't miss the incredible international act of Giannis Tsourdalakis & Giorgos Psarakis, who are performing live on Saturday 22 on the AA Holdings Stage at 18:40 and Sunday 23 on the #Lovelonsdale Stage at 21:10

Joining the celebrations on Saturday to offer an incredible night of free entertainment is renowned Greek Singer Nikos Vertis. They will perform his greatest hits for all festival goers on the Bendigo Bank Main Stage.

The festival is closing on Sunday night with Fotis Vergopoulos performing on AA Holding Stage at 20:00. Fotis is acknowledged as an authority of the genre in Greece and the diaspora. He represents the new generation of talent and never ceases to surprise his audiences with authentic and rarely-heard rebetiko tunes.
