Greece: One million euros in TV rights for Olympiakos and Panathinaikos

Two biggest clubs in the Greek championship, Olympiakos and Panathinaikos are the big winners of the renewal of the TV rights of the domestic championship, the Esake League.

The main broadcast partner of the Esake League, ERT recently announced its renewal of TV rights. The agreement is valued at 5.3 million euros per season, divided between the 12 clubs, including 710,000 euros in performance bonuses.

According to SDNA, Olympiakos – the defending champions – will receive the biggest sum of the panel with almost a million euros in broadcasting rights. Panathïnaikos, meanwhile, will receive around 900,000 euros. A chasm separates the two behemoths of AEK Athens, the 3rd best-off team with 380,000 euros.

The next champion of Greece will receive a bonus of 213,000 euros while the runner-up will get 126,400 euros.
