American model and instagram influencer Elizabeth Bert has provoked the geography gods with a 'controversial' facebook post from Greece where she is currently modeling.
Bert posted: "I’m in Greece 🇬🇷 modeling! Had no idea so many Greeks lived here. Wow! #Crete #Athens #Ligma"
Social media users quickly jumped on her comments. " Even celebrities like Greek Canadian comedian Angelo Tsarouchas chimed in with a hilarious response: "And the Geography Masters award goes to….what a Touvlo.
Others followed suit:
"Greeks in Greece, never heard anything so mad!
"Wow Greeks living in Greece, Amazing, Greeks living in other parts of the World as well, how Amazing FFS, how does she get dressed in the morning???"
"Who'd have thought there would be Greeks in Greece? Next thing you'll be telling us there are Germans in Germany."
Americans have a reputation of being notoriously bad at geography, so the post came as no surprise to many... whilst other were quick to suggest Bert was trolling and playing a joke on us all.
But after more than 700 post comments, 3.4K likes and 157 shares, Bert defended her post, saying of course she was joking - adding:
" I had ouzo for the first time ever and I have to admit it was delightful"
