CYPRUS: Mobile speed camera vehicle targeted in shooting

Shots were fired on the Larnaca-Famagusta highway in Cyprus at a mobile speed camera vehicle. Fortunately there were no injuries.

The case was reported to police by an employee of the company, which manages the mobile speed control cameras, Proto Thema reported.

The employee was inside the company car, which was parked on the highway, when he saw a dark-coloured motorcycle approaching, with two people on it. Then he heard two loud bangs and saw the motorcycle speeding away.

Immediately after, he spotted damage to the rear of the vehicle.

The tests revealed that the damage to the vehicle was caused by shots fired from a shotgun.
