Passenger traffic in the Athens International Airport soared in October to total 2.29 million people, approaching 2019 levels, and bringing the country's largest airport back to pre-pandemic levels, as it was only down by 0.5% compared with October 2019.
Domestic traffic surpassed 2019 levels by 4.6%, while international traffic was down 2.6% over the same period.
In the January-October period, passenger traffic totaled 19.5 million, down 12.2% compared with 2019, with domestic traffic down 6.2% and international traffic down 14.9%.
The number of flights was up 0.5% in October compared with October 2019, with domestic flights up 7.2% and international flights down 4.1%.
In the 10-month period, the number of flights totaled 184,495, down 6.2% compared with the same period in 2019. Domestic flights were up 1.8% and international flights were down 12%.
