The historic First Pan-Australian Clergy Synaxis was a great success, ending with a dinner hosted by St Basil’s NSW/ ACT of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia at the venue of the Parish of St Spyridon, Kingsford with the evident satisfaction of all for the spiritual interaction and the substantial benefit from this – the first National Clergy Synaxis.

The proceedings of the first National Clergy Synaxis commenced on Tuesday the 18th of October with the blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and was attended by most of the priests of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, monks, nuns, novices, candidates to the priesthood, as well as students of St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College in Sydney.

The dinner that followed was held under the leadership of His Eminence Archbishop of Australia Makarios and the St Basil’s NSW/ ACT Board of Directors was honoured to welcome His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, representing His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Larisa and Tyrnavos, and Reverend Fathers of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

The main speakers at the dinner included His Eminence Archbishop of Australia Makarios, President of St Basil’s NSW/ ACT, and Mr James Jordan, Chairman of St. Basil’s NSW/ ACT.
