Greece sends condolences to Indonesia after earthquake displaces 13,000 and kills 162, mostly children

Greece has sent its condolences to Indonesia following the devastating 5.6 Richter scale earthquake which struck on Monday and killed some 162 people, mostly children and displaced an estimated 13,000 people.

The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry said it is "devastated by the tragic loss of lives and damage caused by the earthquake that hit West Java in Indonesia," in a post on Twitter on Monday.

"Our thoughts go out to the missing, the injured and to the rescue crews. We extend sincere condolences to the grieving families and sympathies to the people and the Government of Indonesia," it added.
