Aegean Announces Flights From Newcastle To Athens

Aegean will be the only airline connecting Newcastle with Athens next summer.

Aegean Airlines, the Greek flag carrier, has announced a new nonstop service from Newcastle Airport to Athens. The new route will launch next summer and will run from mid-June to mid-September.

From Newcastle to Athens

From mid-June to mid-September 2023, Aegean will fly between Newcastle and Athens twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Athens is one of the most popular summer destinations for those who live in the North East. Newcastle International Airport Director of Aviation Development is thrilled at the announcement from Aegean,

"We are delighted to be announcing Greece’s flagship carrier, AEGEAN, who will offer even more choice to the region by offering direct services to Athens with onwards connections within Greece and across Europe and the Middle East. Greece is one of the North East’s most popular holiday destinations and there is huge demand for direct services to Athens. This investment demonstrates great confidence in the North East’s largest airport and the region and we look forward to welcoming AEGEAN in 2023."

Tickets are already on sale for the new route and are available starting at about $61 one-way in Economy.

According to Cirium's schedule data, in June 2023, Newcastle International Airport will have nonstop service to the following Greek destinations:

 

Aegean's flights are not yet in Cirium's schedule analyzer. At the time of publication, data shows that Newcastle International Airport will have 154 nonstop flights to Greece, split between three airlines. Ryanair has the smallest operation from Newcastle to Greece, with nine flights. TUI has 65 flights, and Jet2 has the remaining 80.
