Halkidiki Among Lonely Planet's Top Destinations for 2023

Halkidiki has been named in the 30 best tourist destinations of 2023 by travel guide book publisher Lonely Planet.

Lonely Planet has released its 18th annual list, which is divided into 5 categories, presenting the best destinations:

To eat

To learn

To travel

To relax

To connect

A peninsula of stunning coastal scenery, this region in Northern Greece is about an hour’s drive from Thessaloniki, Halkidiki is among the top 6 choices in the "Relaxation" category.

According to the Lonely Planet there may be islands in Greece that stand out, but Halkidiki is "an idyllic place for relaxation and tranquility".

“Sometimes you need a trip where you can unwind and reconnect with yourself, your partner, your family or just the world around you. These are destinations where you will relax and rebalance,” writes the Lonely Planet.

Often eclipsed by the islands to the south, Northern Greece’s Halkidiki peninsula stretches into the Aegean Sea and offers blissful beaches that are an idyllic setting to relax and unwind.
