SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras will tour western Macedonia on Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, Tsipras will meet prefecture leaders at the town hall of Florina at midday, and visit two facilities in the region before dropping in at the studio of sculptor and academic Filippos Kalamaras in the afternoon and evening.

On Tuesday, the main opposition leader will travel to Kastoria, touring the center of the city and later in the morning meeting with city officials at the chamber of commerce.

Meanwhile, in a social media post on Saturday to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Tsipras said: "We must face the reality in order to be able to overturn it."

"Our disabled fellow citizens continue to experience inequalities and social exclusion, reduced accessibility in public space, at work, in social life, in the modern digital environment," he continued, adding: "The National Action Plan for the Rights of the Disabled of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance has a goal: 'Nothing for us without us'."

"We are changing the way of certification. Among other innovative measures, we are introducing a personal assistant even on a 24-hour basis.

"We increase spending on disability benefits and grant them regardless of age.

"We are moving towards inclusive education so that no citizen is left behind.

"We are implementing the disabled person's pass, which will be linked to his electronic file so that it is constantly updated and can be 'read' everywhere".
