The Turkish Ministry of Defence issued a provocative and strange statement on Saturday afternoon, according to which Greek aircraft “interfered” with Turkish aircraft participating in a NATO exercise in international airspace over the Aegean.
According to the announcement of the Turkish Ministry, “the fighter and support aircraft of our Air Force and the early warning and control aircraft (AWACS) directed by NATO carried out the joint training mission NEXUS ACE in the international airspace of the Aegean Sea for the purpose of mutual training.”
And the statement continued: “NATO’s NEXUS ACE mission was attempted to be harassed by Greek aircraft, however, the mission was successfully completed, with the answers given by the aircraft of our Air Force.”
