Arctic Monkeys are coming to Greece and the music-loving domestic audience went crazy! In particular, how quickly the presale tickets sold out for the Release Athens festival on July 19, 2023 indicates just how popular the English band is in the Mediterranean country.

Within the first five minutes of availability, the 4,000 early bird tickets of €65 for the long-awaited Arctic Monkeys concert were sold out.

"Your response to the 7/19 pre-sale launch, headlined by Arctic Monkeys, has been unprecedented! The 4,000 early bird tickets of €65 were sold out within the first 5 minutes. The pre-sale will now continue with the next two phases, where the prices will be €70 and €75, until the specific tickets are sold out," noted Release Athens in its official announcement.

The biggest rock band of our days, with countless hits and great live performances, is coming to Athens for the top music night of this summer. With them are the explosive The Hives, in their first appearance in Greece, and the special Willie J Healey.

It's been 20 years since four childhood friends from High Green, Sheffield decided to form a band that very quickly went on to take the world by storm.

Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Matt Helders and Nick O'Malley since 2006, have seen their fame grow by word of mouth, and after the first demos released freely on the internet, it ended up the arms of the iconic Domino Records.

In October 2005, they released their first single, "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor".

An anthem for an entire generation, it went straight to the top of the UK charts and was the ultimate precursor to the massive career of a band that would in the following years become the biggest indie rock name of the 21st century.

Their brilliantly titled debut, “Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not” (2006), broke all the sales counters in its first week of release and swept every possible award by the end of the year.

Their second LP, Favourite Worst Nightmare, established them for good, leading them to headline Glastonbury and two legendary sold out shows in Manchester.

The sequel was equally impressive. The records that followed - "Humbug" (2009), "Suck It See" (2011), "AM" (2013), "Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino" (2018) and the brand new "The Car" - made Arctic Monkeys as one of the biggest names on the world music scene of the last 20 years, both creatively and commercially (with over 25 million sales and 30 million digital followers worldwide), proving to be a restless band that evolves its sound from album to album and, at the same time, highlighting Alex Turner as the most talented lyricist of our time and a truly unique composer and charismatic frontman, with 8 consecutive No. 1 albums in the UK (6 with Arctic Monkeys and 2 with Last Shadow Puppets ).

On Wednesday July 19, the Arctic Monkeys of the unsurpassed "RU Mine?", "Do I Wanna Know?", "Star Treatment", "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?" and "Fluorescent Adolescent", among many others, will take to the stage of Water Square for an evening that will be the ultimate musical date of the year.
