More than 40 couples were planning to marry at the Holiday Village Atlantica Kos in events booked through TUI.
The hotel is now under new ownership, has a new name and is taking bookings directly. Couples who booked their holiday and wedding through TUI are currently looking for clarification on whether their weddings will go ahead, reports WalesOnline.
A spokesperson for TUI said they would be in touch with the brides. 27-year-old nursery manager Danielle Connor is to marry Rhydian in May. Sixty wedding guests are also set to join them, with 50 already booked.
The couple has already spent £5,000 on their wedding. "We've known for a while we wanted our wedding to be abroad," she said. "We booked the wedding with TUI in November last year; it was so exciting. We were supposed to have a virtual meeting with the wedding organising team in November this year.
In response, a spokesperson for TUI has said the company knows there are questions about the weddings due to take place at the Holiday Village Atlantica Kos, and it prioritises those bookings.
They added that all those booked weddings through TUI with the previous venue would go ahead at a different venue.
However, following this development, Danielle has said that she is considering cancelling her wedding for fear a new location will mean additional costs for her and her guests.
