Fotini Velesiotou on trap: "The lyrics are shameful, this music offends me"

Fotini Velesiotou trapper

Fotini Velesiotou, in a recent interview, spoke out against trap music, while also referring to her famous song "Melisses" (Bees).

Speaking to Secret magazine, she first spoke about trap music: "The lyrics are a disgrace. I am offended by this music and I think it offends a lot of people of my generation, and not only."

"Unfortunately, the new kids - and I learn this from my teacher friends in schools - only listen to this and those who don't listen to this music just get into the system and follow, to be in the group and not get kicked out. It's about ripping off the music this thing they're listening to, crap".

Trap music, a subgenre of rap, gets its name from the Atlanta slang word “trap”, a house used exclusively to sell drugs.

About the song Melisses, Fotini Velesiotou said: "This song follows me. It was written in 2007 and since then I haven't been able to remove it from any program."
