The US remains off-limits for Djokovic, with his continued refusal to be vaccinated against COVID-19 precluding him from entering the country. He was not allowed to enter for last year's US Open, which was won by Daniil Medvedev.

“If Novak is allowed in the USA we are playing doubles at INDIAN WELLS 👀👀👀 y’all ready?" Kyrgios posted on his Instagram. His comment was in response to a fan who had said the 'bromance' between the pair was 'mode on'.

Kyrgios has consistently praised Djokovic since the pair squared off in last year's Wimbledon final, in which the Serbian triumphed in an engaging 4-6 6-3 6-4 7-6 (3) contest.

The former world number one Novak Djokovic arrived in Australia on Tuesday.

The nine-time Australian Open champion was initially banned from the country for three years after losing a high-stakes legal battle in January over his vaccine status.Australia has since lifted its requirement for visitors to show proof of vaccination against Covid.
