How will traffic in Athens and Piraeus be affected by Epiphany?

Athens and Piraeus will face some traffic changes on Friday due to the observance of Epiphany Day church services and the related water-blessing ceremonies.

Several roads near and around the church of Agios Dionissios and at Dexameni, both at Kolonaki in central Athens, as well as streets around the central port of Piraeus, will be closed off on the day from 06:00 until 13:00.

In celebration of the feast of Epiphany, Greek Orthodox faithful dive in to retrieve the Holy Cross during the blessing of the waters at rivers, lakes and seas.
