The visit of Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and his meetings with the country's president and foreign minister dominated the Thursday edition of one of the largest French-language newspapers in the West African country.

Fraternité Matin (the morning "Fraternity") recorded the news on its front page and devoted a two-page article to the meetings between Dendias with the president of the Côte d'Ivoire Alassane Ouattara and the country's foreign minister Kandia Camara.

The front page emphasises in the headline that Greece welcomes the economic development of Côte d'Ivoire and refers to the two memorandums that were signed: the Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations and the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Diplomatic Training.

The two-page publication includes photos of the Greek foreign minister from his meetings with the president and the foreign minister of the country and emphasises that Greece wants to strengthen its cooperation with the Côte d'Ivoire.

Camara, during the dinner toast, expressed the belief that the two governments are going to capture a new dynamic in the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

It is pointed out that during the meeting, Camara invited Greek businessmen to focus their interest on projects carried out in the Côte d'Ivoire included in the 2021-2025 program, emphasising the need to create jobs for young people.

Furthermore, special mention is made of Côte d'Ivoire's support for Greece's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the period 2025-2026.

Also, the news of the visit and the signing of the memorandums between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Greece and the Côte d'Ivoire, among others, is recorded by the country's news agency Agence Ivoirienne de Presse de Côte d'Ivoire.

As indicated in the telegram, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Côte d'Ivoire expressed the belief that the important step taken with the signing of the two memoranda will give a new dynamic to the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
