“Yiasou!” The Greek Summer Festival returns to Carss Bush Park on Sunday, 12th February 2023, bringing authentic Greek flavours, music and entertainment. The annual festival is an exciting cultural experience for the whole family.

“Yiasou!” The Greek Summer Festival returns to Carss Bush Park on Sunday, 12th February 2023, bringing authentic Greek flavours, music and entertainment. The annual festival is an exciting cultural experience for the whole family.
“In the second year of operation, The Greek Summer Festival has become a staple occasion for the Greek community. It is a special day to celebrate and share our rich culture with our local community. We are proud to showcase our authentic food and delightful entertainment!” Says George Koromvokis, the Business Development and Marketing Manager of St Basil’s NSW/ACT, the organisation that runs the festival.
“This year, we have invited the Greek celebrity chef, David Tsikeras, who will be cooking up at Australia’s largest Greek barbeque!”
In addition to David’s favourite Greek flavours, festival-goers can indulge in traditional dishes from some of the 100 stalls involved in the day, including hot and crunchy Loukoumades from the popular Yiayia’s Loukoumades, Fish & Chips by Fish & Lemonade, Greek Pastries by Christopher’s Cake Shop and many more. Of course, the festival wouldn’t be complete without every cut of Greek meat you could ever wish to devour, including Souvla, Souvlakia, Biftekia and Sheftalies. Sweets will include handmade Kouloria and traditional Risogalo.
The festival will include a variety of entertainment that celebrates the traditional Greek culture, including live Bouzouki and Greek Island instrumental shows, traditional dancing performances, and cooking demonstrations. Festival attendees will also enjoy entertainment from International Guests soon to be announced.
Entertainment for the kids will include donkey rides, jumping castles and Kids’ activities, including special guest appearances from some loved mascots.
Fresh from the Sydney Harbour New Year's Eve production, the iconic Foti Fireworks will end the night with the largest synchronised Greek Music fireworks show ever. Guests can dance along or sit back and gaze into the beauty of what will be a very Instagrammable moment.
Entry to the festival is free. Accessible parking and shuttle buses from Kogarah Park and key sites are available. Gates open at 11 am, with the event wrapping up at 9 pm.
