THE EVZONES COLLECTION BY NICK BOURDANIOTIS IS HEADED TO THE ATHENS WAR MUSEUM THIS MARCH.
“It’s the first time we will be hosting an exhibition by any Greek from the diaspora at our beloved Athens War Museum.” Mr Nikolaos Roussos, History Museum Designer and Conservation Technician.
The latest developments around The Evzones Collection by Nick Bourdaniotis, a photographic exhibition that continues to be an integral part of the official national program for modern Greece’s 200 years of freedom celebration in Australia, continues and is only growing in momentum. It is an exhibition that is presented under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia.
The Evzones Collection by Nick Bourdaniotis is endorsed by the head of Garrison, Mr George Besiris and the Greek Presidential Guard, as well as the Hellenic General Staff of National Defense, The Consulate Generals of Greece in Melbourne / Sydney / Adelaide, The Ambassador of Greece to Australia, the 200 Years of Hellenism Committee, and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.
Mr Nikolaos Roussos, History Museum Designer and Conservation Technician recently requested the Exhibition be shown at the Athens War Museum for this year’s 25th of March celebrations and is set to be displayed from 20 March to 3 April 2023.
“We feel honoured to have been invited to showcase our exhibition in Athens. It is the first time that an exhibition by Greeks in the Diaspora will be on display at the Athens War Museum.” Said Mr Bourdaniotis.
The focus to date, apart from sharing Greece’s culture and traditions through exceptional photographs of the Evzones, Greece’s favourite sons, has been to raise funds for Greek charities, schools, and organisations across Australia. The Evzones Collection by Nick Bourdaniotis has donated a little over $50,000 to date. As a self-funded project, the exhibition is now confronted with print and logistical costs associated with taking the exhibition to Athens, Greece.
The Evzones Collection by Nick Bourdaniotis will be hosting a dinner party aptly titled “THE ROAD TO ATHENS“ to help realise the dream to showcase the beloved exhibition at the Athens War Museum in Greece, and you are cordially invited to attend this history-making night at Beta The Grand, Level 2 (above Alpha Restaurant) 238 Castlereagh Street, Sydney on Friday, 3 March, 2023. Doors open at 6.30pm - 11.30pm.
