Tsitsipas on Phantom F-4 Crash: "I was thinking about the two pilots during the match"

Before Stefanos Tsitsipas' match with a member of team Ecuador, a minute's silence was held at the OAKA for the two pilots who lost their lives a few days ago in the fatal Phantom flight.

The top Greek tennis player dedicated Greece's Davis Cup matches to the two officers. He admitted at the press conference after his victory that he was emotionally charged by the loss.

"It wasn't my best game today. I was thinking about the pilots during the match. I was also emotionally charged by the people who came to see us at OAKA", said the top Greek tennis player.

Stefanos Tsitsipas during the press conference revealed that he had dreamed of winning the Davis Cup in a packed OAKA while he noted that he wants to fill bigger stadiums in Greece.

Furthermore, when asked about his dreams, he emphasised that he wants to win an Olympic gold medal, all the Grand Slams and climb to No.1.

Earlier in the on-court interview he noted:

“I wasn't particularly scared. I played good tennis. It's the first time I play in Athens. I want to thank the people who came to support our effort. We are very happy and we will do our best to qualify.

"Last week I played in a big stadium, not with so many Greeks on my side, but for me today it was the... continuation from Australia.

"Let's go to Greece!".
