Central southern Turkey earthquake, preliminary magnitude 7.7

The earthquake has caused extensive damage, with Reports of multiple people trapped in collapsed buildings

The quake’s depth is 24.1 kilometres (14.9 miles), located 23 kilometres (14.2 miles) east of Nurdagi, Gaziantep province, according to the USGS.

Strong aftershocks have been felt in central Turkey, where another earthquake of 6.7 magnitudes struck at a depth of 9.9 kilometres about 11 minutes after the first quake.

Media based in Turkey, centre of the earthquake is GAntep, which could be as big as the 7.8 Richter scale.
