Drop in Covid-19 intubations and deaths in Greece

The number of Covid-19 hospital admissions stayed the same as the previous week, without fluctuations, but intubations and deaths dropped during the week of January 30-February 5, said the National Public Health Organization (EODY) in its weekly statistics report on Thursday.

Specifically, a total of 1,112 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospitals during the week of January 30-February 5, namely 159 patients per day on average, same number as in the previous week.

In addition, 127 coronavirus patients were on ventilators on February 5, compared to the 135 intubated patients on January 29.

There were also 106 deaths from Covid-19 during the week of January 30-February 5, with a median age of 85 years, compared to the 169 deaths registered in the previous week.

Regarding the spread of influenza in the community during the same week, EODY reported 2 new deaths by influenza type A.

Overall, a total of 57 influenza patients have so far required treatment in ICUs, while a total of 19 people have died from it.
