Dusit Hotels and Resorts is preparing for its entry into the European market with an exclusive boutique property slated to open in Athens by late March - just in time for the tourist season.

Under Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, Dusit Hotels and Resorts recently announced its expansion plans for 2023, including debuting its unique brand of Thai-inspired hospitality in Japan and Europe.

The first Dusit-branded property in Europe will be the Dusit Suites Athens in the Greek capital that will feature 36 upscale rooms and suites in the property that once housed John’s Hotel in Glyfada, an affluent suburb renowned for its stunning beaches, upscale shopping, and vibrant nightlife.

The Dusit Suites Athens will open in a fully revamped boutique property that will include an outdoor pool, spa, sauna, steam room, rooftop restaurant/bar for all-day dining and Dusit’s signature TAO restaurant with Pan Asian cuisine.

The hotel is located just a few steps away from the popular golden-sand stretch of Asteras Glyfada Beach, and within convenient access to the historic city centre and Athens International Airport (AIA).

The Dusit Suites Athens will open under a management agreement.

“We are excited to bring our signature brand of Thai-inspired gracious hospitality to even more key locations this year, and we look forward to delighting guests and customers across our full brand spectrum,” Dusit International COO Gilles Cretallaz said.

Dusit will also make its debut in Japan this year with the opening of two new hotels in the ancient capital of Kyoto – ASAI Kyoto Shijo and Dusit Thani Kyoto – in Q2 and Q3, respectively.

The expansion plans of Dusit Hotels and Resorts for 2023 see a total of 14 hotels and resorts (approximately 1,700 keys) to be added to its portfolio across China, Greece, India, Japan, Kenya, Nepal, and Thailand, resulting in 62 hotels (approximately 13,700 keys) operating across 17 countries.

According to Dusit, more than 60 properties are in the pipeline and expected to open within the next three-to-four years.

“As travel continues to rebound, we remain steadfast in our commitment to quality over quantity and delivering exceptional experiences in the world’s finest destinations,” Cretallaz said.

Dusit International opened its first hotel in 1948, introducing Thailand to a new level of hospitality.

In the hotel industry, Dusit has launched and manages six brands: Dusit Thani, DusitD2, Dusit Devarana and Dusit Princess brands for hotels and resorts; ASAI for luxury accommodation; and EH (Elite Havens) for villas.
