The award for Best European Film Location 2022 was won by the legendary beach of Chiliadou in Evia, which during the pandemic welcomed the filming of the multi-awarded movie "Triangle of Sadness", by the Swede Ruben Östlund (Golden Palm Cannes Festival).
The award from the European Film Commission Network (EUFCN) took place at the 73rd Berlinale on Sunday, within the framework of the European Film Market, and was the result of the successful response of the public in the voting process for the Best Film Location for Greece.
The Hellenic Film Center and its directorate for International Audiovisual Co-productions - Hellenic Film Commission (HFC), which submitted the nomination, expressed, in a statement, their thanks to the participants in the online voting that began last November.
The other four locations competing were from Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany and Croatia.
It should be noted that in 2018, Corfu of the television series "The Durrells" received the same award, making two awards for Greece since 2017, when the institution of the best Film Location of the year was established by EUFCN.
